Boutique hotel & penthouse apartment & Ozone roastery courtyard.
West End Precinct, New Plymouth. Neighbouring the historic White Hart building, and opposite the Govett Brewster Art Gallery & Len Lye Centre.
The design incorporates a clever intergration of functional elements. The vertical louvre screen which has become a distinct and iconic feature of the hotel offers sun shading and privacy as well as acting as a balcony barriers. The screen creates some relief and movement to the King Street facade. The design facing Egmont street is sympathetic to the scale and context of the street& the White Hart Hotel. Full depth canopy over the footpath continues a living edge and provides an urban scale.
